Q

I'm away during the course, should I still sign up?

A

It's very common for participants to be away for a couple of weeks during a two month course. That's why we allow members to catch up missed classes at a later date!

We currently run classes on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. If you happen to miss a week or two you can catch up by taking two classes the following week.

This way you never need to feel 'behind' and you can get back to speed after a holiday in no time!

Q

Where do sessions take place?

A

Our classes will be based in Stanmore as follows:

A) Mondays @ 7pm and Saturdays @ 9.45am - Church House on Old Church Lane
B) Fridays @ 11:15am and Wednesdays @ 11.30am - Bernay's Hall on Stanmore High Street

However, by the end of the year we plan to open more classes so please register so we can keep you updated!

Q

How much does the programme cost?

A

There is a limited time offer of £75 for the 8 week programme.

Q

What do I get for my £75?

A

  • 8 intelligently designed exercise classes. The classes are designed to improve your stamina, boost energy levels, burn fat and help you become more resistant to injury. Each of our sessions will cover four key areas: strength, mobility, balance and cardiovascular training.

  • Exclusive access to a comprehensive video exercise library: all exercises you do with us in our class will be covered in our video library. This way you can stay on track in between classes and even if you are on holiday.

  • Access to our Facebook Members Group. Every single day that you're with us, you can connect with us through our private community forum and we'll help you stay engaged, informed and motivated.

Q

Am I too young or old for the programme?

A

Since our classes are marketed to over 50s, this covers quite a large cross section of people. The average age of our classes is 60-70 years old.

However, if you are in your 50s this class will suit you if you are inactive, struggle to get motivated for exercise, are experiencing pain and/or are overweight.

If you are in your 60s or 70s this class will be ideal for most people, from those of you who are relatively inactive to those of you who are already exercising a couple of times a week.

If you are still unsure and would still like to join, please contact us.

Q

What does a class look like?

A

The first 10-15 minutes of each class begins with some gentle flexibility, mobility drills and some playful dance moves to get you limbered up, warm and ready for the next stage of the programme.

The next 30 mins of the programme will consist of a circuit of 4 exercise stations, a short break, followed by another circuit of 4 different exercise stations. These stations will comprise of a few strength training exercises, body weight exercises, Pilates exercises, balance drills, and yoga poses.

Finally, we will finish with 10-15 mins of a cool down that will consist of some long deep stretches, breathe work and meditation to help you readjust to the outside world again.

The atmosphere is always upbeat and interactive...until the last 10 mins where we relax the vibes and unwind.

Q

I've got an injury - Can I still sign up?!

A

Most people who participate in our classes have old niggling injuries and one or more areas of concern. Maybe they get pain in their lower back from time to time or they don't have full range of motion in their knees and shoulders anymore.

We will always provide alternative exercises for people who are unable to complete the set routine and in most cases we can work around people's injuries. However, if you're concerned we recommend that you drop us an email or give us call to work out whether or not Kandu is right for you.

Q

Can I take one class to try it out?!

A

Once a month we run a taster class where you can attend and experience the benefits of our classes without having to commit to the full 2 month programme. Taster classes are available for £10. Please register for more details.

Q

What support will I get outside the class?

A

Everyday access to James via our Facebook group, as well as email and phone - we actively encourage you to get in touch with us with any health and fitness questions no matter how seemingly 'trivial'.

Regular inspiration through our Facebook group - we post article and videos to keep you inspired and motivated.

A comprehensive video library of everything we cover in the class, mobility drills and stretches.

Whatever fears I had about doing an hours class, with dodgy knees, have been taken away.  Friday 11.30 is a time for me. It's fun, everyone in the group is friendly and we all support each other. James is a fab teacher. He gives other exercises to make it manageable for my knee, which is now gaining more strength and flexibility.
